Swarm Reports is built for beekeepers, and is free to use, all we ask is that you donate whatever you amount you wish if you catch a swarm when using our service. This is not required but appreciated. You’ll receive notifications when honey bee swarms are reported near you.

HOW IT WORKS

1. When a honey bee swarm is reported to Swarm Reports, our system automatically notifies the nearest beekeepers and posts a notification to their dashboards.

2.
In the My Account area you can see the contact information of the swarm reporter and a picture and other details provided.

3. If it works for you, you would then contact the swarm reporter and arrange the swarm collection or hive removal.

How does Swarm Reports work?

Swarm reports is based on a first come first serve basis.  All notifications are sent out automatically to the appropriate catchers for the area of the swarm or hive removal.  The first person who contacts the swarm reporter and is awarded the job will get the swarm or hive removal job.

The listing may be up still even when a job has been filled.  The swarm reporter can remove their listing once the job is done or it will be removed after 3 days automatically.

What do I do when I receive a notification?

Once you receive a notification of a swarm or hive removal, you can login to your account and see all the details of the swarm report.  If it works for you, you can contact the reporter using the contact info found in the report and arrange all the details with the reporter.

Why I am not receiving swarm notifications

There are a few reasons for not receiving swarm notifications.  The main reason could be that there have not been any reports.  Swarm Reports is fairly new so many not have a large presence in your area yet.  The second biggest reason is our emails are going to your spam/junk folder.  Please make sure to remove our emails from the spam folder so your system will not block them in the future.

How do you use my information?

Swarm Reports only uses your information to notify you of a honey bee swarm or a hive removal requests.  We also may contact you from time to time to inform you of changes or other important information.  We DO NOT sell your data or share it publicly.

RESPOND QUICKLY

The faster you respond the better chance of collecting the honey bee swarm or getting the removal job.  If you take a job, please ensure you show up so others do not loose out on the swarm collection or hive removal.

BE SAFE

Although we take no responsibility for any actions of the swarm reporter or catcher, please do not take any swarm collection or hive removal  jobs that put you or anyone else in harms way.  It’s not worth the risk!

CLEAR COMMUNICATIONS

Swarm collections are typically FREE OF CHARGE but if the collection requires extensive effort or you are providing a service to remove an established hive a fee may be required.  Be up front with the requester and use the images they provided when submitting a request to get a good idea of what you’re getting into.  You can also ask them to send more pictures once you contact them.  Please ensure they understand that you will be keeping the swarm so they know this up front.
